I also have silverstar and i saw the difference....I think imma use silvertar from now on. I was gonna try Luminics, but i was kinda not sure about it. Imma buy it and try it and compare it which one is brighter and has longer life.

There was another thread on here about them someplace. The person who made it seemed very satified with them.

http://www.hirheadlights.com/ sells/has info about them.

You won't have any problems running the HIR bulbs. They have the same wattage ratings as the OEM bulbs. Only times I've seen problems with fried wiring harnesses is from people using bulbs that have a higher wattage rating.

first, if you want to see a good comparison with HIR vs silverstars, go to the following link: http://www.bmwcca.org/members/AM/Tem...6_Light&page=3

second, seriously, do a search first. i did a quick search and found several threads. the first thread below is less than a week old and has more than enough info:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ight=hir+bulbs
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ight=hir+bulbs
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ight=hir+bulbs

finally, i use HIR's i and i like 'em. simply put, HIR's will output more light (lumens) than a standard bulb and a silverstar bulb. silver stars have a coating to change the color of the bulb, but the coating also reduces the amount of light that can pass through the bulb. and yes, HIR's use the same wattage as a standard bulb and WILL NOT burn up your harness.

OUCH. i was fearing this all along after i had silverstars a while back.

"What is obvious in comparing the “SilverStar” to the standard Sylvania high-beam bulb is that the SilverStar makes less light than a standard bulb. The difference at the brightest point in the beam is 77 foot-candles from the SilverStar, and 109 footcandles from the normal high-beam bulb. This equates to ~23% less light."
-bmwcca.org

but back to topic, the HIR lamps produced 33% more lighting in the 9006 e36 housing according to the link. 33% is impressive in my book (i learned that manufacturers don't always give the output increase percentage that we're looking for. While sylvania xtravision claims to give 20% more output, the output decreases to around 15-16% when stuck in the e36 housing.)

got em in...........nice. nice and bright, much brighter then the silverstars........not as blue, but way brighter. Also when you put them in, dont try to cut down the third tab, just cut it off all together.........it does not effect the fit if you do, but if you dont you'll spend 10minutes trying to match it.
