Doesnt that usually happen when the brake fluid is low?

check your fluid. make sure its not a really dark color and make sure its filled to the line. my gf's car had similar problem. the brake light would come on randomly until it stayed on. turns out it needed fluid.

Hmm..unless you have a heavy foot when breaking your brakes should be fine....But yeah, check the fluid level...it happens when your pads get close to the end of their life and the fluid flows back and forth......If all else fails........around 20k miles.....Take it in!

checks your brake pads and your brake fluid. Chances are, there is an issue there

yeah, i went through the same problem. after coming to a stop and accelerating away (i guess i always accelerate hard) the e-brake light started coming on. something to do with having to use more brake fluid to keep the same pressure of the brake pads on rotors. but this happened to me around 32k and it was only on really cold days, then it started coming on all the time around 34 k.

but man, at only 20 k, you are too hard on your brakes. people told me i was bad for needing new ones so soon.

don't get stingy on your brakes. i'm almost positive they are a very important part of your car.

you can get trd front brake pads from www.trdsparks.com for i think under $60.

i say upgrade. then you're modding and doing preventive maintenance. steel lines, good pads and performance fluid will make a huge difference.

i got them on all four corners, and i love them most of the time. the only time i don't is when they are cold and squeak everytime i touch the brake, but seriously, they have saved my bacon several times in a couple of panic stops. like when i was going down this road, and the all way stop sign was obscurred by a broken tree branch, phew, they got me stopped without skidding. and just this monday morning going down the interstate in the mid 80 mph, my radar detector went off and a quick hard stab at the brakes brought me down 60 quickly and in good time.

also, since they are slotted, they are great at channaling water away and keeping your braking surface dry and clear.

if you don't want the squeaking, you can get the package with axxis deluxe which aren't as abbrasive, so they are probably alot less noisy.

oh yeah, i should also mention that other factors can affect braking performance, one is tires, i have kumho ecsta asx on stock rims, and full trd sport shocks and lowering springs which can improve braking performance.
