I don't so much regret buying a spec, as if I had a choice NOW to have the roof exchanged for a full glas (instead of the 3 seperate peices) i'd be stoked. The full glass roof is much cleaner looking and I hardly ever use my sun roof. I really only use it when i'm bored in traffic and I figure I mind as well get my moneys worth, haha.

I changed the wheels, plan on changing the steering wheel and arm rest, also the seats. The only thing i'd miss is the engine immobilizer.

My first non-spec tC they gave me $15g for in a trade. I paid $15,5 for it used, put 10k on it, and I shoved my foot in it on multiple occasions. No where can you "rent" a car for almost a year and put 10k on it.

I doubt a spec will ever hold it's value like a non, but either way, I was told by a few dealerships that our cars have one of the highest resale values of any vehicle. Like 80% of the new price is obtainable in trade.

Again i guess i have to chime in with my own opinion on this matter.

Again the spec package is a personal choice & a personal preference... This is a VERY Subjective matter. I believe in people being given choices. Having options is always a good thing. Again this is all subjective to personal taste and is hard to say who's getting a better deal or not.

I would GLADLY pay $18,000 (I'm just using that Price as an Example) for a Spec package alone just for the Blacked out Headlights & Removal of the moon/sunroof. Infact I told them to Ship me (they drove it down from another city) a White Spec TC because I wanted it that much. I didn't care that they will be putting miles on it. That was my choice that I made and have never regreted it.

Again, this is a personal preference of mine. And this topic has gone astray and people have forgotten that things like these are very subjective in nature. Not everyone likes everything. That is why we are given choices.

I have never regreted this..

I always make sure I get what I want, and that it was a choice that I made personally.
(The steering wheel is gonna be replaced, along with the seats, and grills)

Remember to always do what makes you happy and not for someone else, or else you will never be truely happy.

I don't understand why people are trying to "justify" why it's a good deal or not. It's a matter if you wanted those things in the first place or not. It's That Simple. It's not rocket science.

For example if you wanted the ~25-28K (not actual price, just a rumor) for the 5 Axis Longo TC then that's your choice. Whether that is a good deal or not is a personal matter. I would rather buy a WRX, but I wouldn't justify hating on someone and say "Oh you got a bad deal on something overpriced" if they did buy the 5 Axis TC (from Longo). Because that was their choice and is what makes them happy.

...sorry if i'm ranting too much... it's just that it irritates me when i see people that are either indecisive and can't make their own choices without holding someone else's hands or people that shove their ideals down other people's throats (not really applying to this thread but more to other threads). It's ok to ask for opinions and advice, but remember in the end it's ultimately your choice to follow through with what ever it is you decided on after you've considered all of the variables.

-end rant

Never regreted not getting spec tc, 1st of all spec tc wasnt available yet when I got mine.. Then the ground effects and other features did a lot of wonders when it comes to looks.. spec tc would be different in a lot of ways compared to my stock, so no regrets.. if you do a lot of heavy mods Im sure you'll be happy with spec

Do I regret not getting a Spec? No. As other people said before me, its all subjective- All based on preference- For me, I think I've opened the moonroof once, never used cruise control and never used the keyhole on the passenger side door...(just to name a few), BUT I still like the fact that they are there...cause one day who knows, maybe I'll be driving far on highways and want to use cruise control or tilt the moonroof for some reason-

By the way if anyone who doesn't have a spec tC is interested or curious as to what all the little differences (like the urethane steering wheel w/out audio controls, or the different seat upholstrey) look like, check out the offical tC Spec website at
http://www.scion.com/tcspec/

(oh yeah and I mentioned this in another post, but the tC SPec will be discontinued with the 2009 model year (April '08 production)).

I'm glad I got the spec. took the steelies off like maybe 2 months after I got the car. Now I'm using them as my winter wheels.
