so that would put me in HSP? I don't think there's anyone running in HSP around here (if it even exists)
if all your doing is suspension
wheels and tires

you would be in STS

i'm gonna be running some lightweight BBS 15x7s with 205/50/15 azenis....does this seem too small? (i already have everything though)

and by too small, i don't care about how it looks as they are going to be a track only setup.
as long as you can clear the brake calipers (aka get the right offset)

smallness shouldn't matter.

Also, I have to say, this car handles in no way like a camry stock! It is not set up the same at all, and actually handles much better. Dont forget, other than an engine and a modified tranny, this car is in no way, shape or form a camry, any more than any of the hundreds of car models that ran a 350 chevy are the same.
I was speaking relatively, especially for the market placement of the tc. it's just the numb feel that toyota gives their cars from the factory.

initial turn-in feels like my mom's sienna

you would be in STS
koni yellows
trd springs
ingalls rear brace
hotchkis sways
dc front stb
ingalls torque damper
injen cai
exhaust
dc 4-1 header
brembo blanks
hawk hps pads
bbs 15x7 wheels
azenis rt615s

...roughly the same setup i had with my 04 civic, and that was in FSP (i had a few people, even the club president, help me figure out my classing)

already took care of that

the shortened gear ratio noticeably helps with acceleration

hmm, so you think that will put me in HSP?

never heard of HSP
with SCCA at least

the header also knocks you out of STS cuz u removed a stock cat when you put the header on...

check this out it may help.

Exactly the type of response I was looking for, I was under the impression that for autocrossing smaller tires were better.

Going by the SCCA rules, that car fits right into STS unless I am missing something. The header my be of question, since any alterations must be emmisions legal, but if you read the rules you may be ok there as well.

See this link. This is for all Solo I believe, but check my link to be sure. http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/2007SoloRules.pdf STS starts on page 74. I am planning on getting into Autox this summer here, so I need to read up as well

for STS these things woould cause you a prob...
ingalls rear brace - not legal
ingalls torque damper - not legal
dc 4-1 header - not legal - would be for STX - but STS cat
azenis rt615s - legal if less than 225 in width.

I was going by the comment that most supports and braces were allowed under STS, so I will have to check that one again. The header should be legal going by that link as well. What would make it only legal for STX? And correct as well on the 225 tires width.

since my last post, i've been reading the handbook, and playindagamewell is right

the rear brace is illegal for sts--any rear strut braces can only go across from one strut tower to the other (right-left)

the header is illegal for sts because in most states removing a stock cat/adding a header usually makes it unable to pass emissions

the torque damper, couldn't find the rule on that one, and for the tires, my width is 205, so i'm good there.

and about me mentioning HSP earlier, i recalled that i never heard of it before, and looked it up, it doesn't exist, so if in fact i'm out of sts, i don't know what i'm in at this point. gotta ask some locals i suppose, to make sure.

I have some videos of my stock tC in this post:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...630&highlight=

For the lazy: (2nd time in car doing autox, first time on long course)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...96969920656328

Later date, much shorter couse, 2-laps, and this was my 2nd best run. I forgot to tape my best run. LOL

I enjoy running the car stock. No mod can improve your driving skills. The only thing I would buy for the car at this point would be a separate set of wheels with r-compound tires to continue in H-stock. I have too much to learn, so mods on the car are on hold.

I also had the car out on a road course at New Hampshire International Speedway. I haven't had a chance to get the videos off the camera. I enjoy the HPDE events more than autox, but they are big money. I am hoping to get a dedicated track car and continue on that route, instead of autox and beating on the tC.

First auto-x in this car. It did a lot better than I thought it would had. I won my class and I am waiting for the PAX scores to see if I won the over-all race. Fastest time was a SM wrx that put up a 54.xxx I put up a 59.xxx
