I told them to do a rotation, its just that we were on different pages regarding the cost.

Compared to the other ridiculous things I've been through with them I hadn't the energy to fight with them on this one. I know I'm not the only customer who has given Scion feedback about that dealership though - the guy who sold me my cars (who *does* post on scionlife occasionally) was complaining to me that his allotment of cars from Scion is now only 4 cars a month.

I'm about ready to just kiss the $250 I shelled out for the lifetime oil changes goodbye and do my own from now on. Tuition in the school of hard knocks I guess.

THE SCION SECURITY - $469
REAR LIP SPOILER - $385
CD PLAYER WITH IPOD CAPABILITY - $260
2 IN ONE CARPET - $145

then ending up they made a mistake with pricing and the best they could do was give me $450 more for the trade in so the crappy alarm was free and had to pay for the rest in the above.... but also got for free

two $25 gift certificates that are only good for at the dealership

and a 15% lifetime Discount on Parts

the thing that sucks is that i already ordered a new set of 06 floor mats.. i guess i'm gonna have to sell them or something.

I got nothing free with my tC except for the standard three oil changes. I used the first of them at 3000 miles (after having changed the oil myself at 400 and 1000 miles). I decided then that even if I weren't switching to synthetic at 5000 miles, I wouldn't bother using the other two free oil changes. Changing the oil myself takes me 15 minutes on a Saturday morning. Taking the car to the dealer for an oil change takes me a good hour and a half or more during my lunch break from work. My time is worth more to me than the ten bucks the free oil change saves me.

I wonder if I could use the remaining two free oil changes just to pick up oil filters...

If you have it in writing (hopefully you do) they have to abide by the free oil changes and tire rotations. They can't decide on their own to negate that part of your contract. Talk to the manager or go higher if needed.

But you should definitely get your 22 bucks back and report this to your local BBB (Better Business Bureau).

Added another item to my long list of things I'm not happy about with my dealer's service department...

(and they have YET to get the tire pressures right on a tC its 31 in front, 29 in rear, *NOT* 30 all around!)

I didn't start out getting anything for free but when the salesman and the part guy started fighting about who lost my options list and order (almost 5,000 dollars) I got the labor on the springs and shift kit installations for free. They still don't have two of the parts after a month and one of the parts isn't expected until Feb of '06. Dealers suck.

I got an extra 2 free oil changes, an extra tank of gas (which was great when it was over $3 a gallon!), and a gift certificate for dent repair. Free stuff is always good.

My dealership's service shop is rated 11th in the country for toyota, in terms of customer satisfaction. They've got my trust so far.

Where did you get this information from? I would love to see my local service shop rankings.

Is this just for stuff from the dealership or does it include the rewards from scionboost? I got a t-shirt and a pair of electric powered RAZOR scooters for my kids from the BOOST program.

i got the platinum protection throw in for free or so they said, even after i didn't want it.... you can see it added into the price of the car. @ssholes! i just ended up keeping it instead of arguing because it already took me 2 and a half months to get my car delivered.

oh yeah, i also got a lot of hassles thrown in buy my sales rep. i only had to yell at her 4 or 5 times. i think i threatened to leave the deal on the table a few times. they didn't care.

i bought the car because of the price and now i am thinking it was a mistake. i just had the bottom end of my engine replaced at only 13000 miles. i am currently looking at the G35's now.

Toyota/Scion of Long Beach sucks!

I got a tank of gas, oil changes (which I ain't using) and a rental car for two days while they installed the leather.
I wasn't in the mood to haggle - it was an Xmas present from my wife, and I didn't want to keep her there all day...money is not an issue, time is. ;)
BTW, I would never let oil run in my car for 5k miles! Even though I use Mobil1 synth (after break-in) I change every 3k on the dot.
