yes bingo that must be the problem that charging capability and artist name is not standard on the 07's I think. your sterio should look like this. Bug them on this why would they put that on there the 08 sterio is much sexier

all he has to do is tell us what the tail lights look like or headlights.. that's easy, or the color of the door handles inside. that'll tell us 08 or 07

Basic bottom line - go to the dealer and have them show you how to operate the radio. They can use their own iPod or other MP3 player to do the 'demo' just so they can't blame yours for not working right.

If they can't show you how it works, they can damned well work at it until they can.

Good luck!

yes, i have an 08 tC, I didn't pay the extra 600 in base price without knowing which model i have, although i didn't know I got the older radio =\

The dealer techs are dumbfounded upon why it won't work, so they're asking people for help. I should hear from then sometime after Monday. What ____ed me off was that they clearly stated that everything was in working order and that they tested it. Bull crap. It was after i pointed to them that it didn't work that they said "Oh, we didn't have an ipod/mp3 player, so we couldn't test it. Lying sons of ... But i found one of the service reps who could actually help me out and he's finding out for me.

Hopefully i get this thing fixed before i go on a long trip next week

Thanks for the help guys and gals!

that is definately NOT an 08 radio. if that is what they are trying to pawn off on you as the radio. CALL UP CORPORATE.
Take your claims straight to corporate and let them sort out the bull this dealership is trying to lay in your lap.

alright, so after about a week or so and a talk to corporate, they got the dealer that sold it to me to admit that they switched out the radio. Apparently the car had a navi in it and since i bought it w/o that, they took it out and put in the 07 radio because they had that on hand.

They were giving me this bs story about how they didnt do anything wrong until i called corporate up and had them talk to the people directly.

So, they switched out the radio not assuming the aux and ipod port would work automatically, which it didn't

In the end, i got them to swap it out with the 08 head unit and everything works with it! i guess the 07 is not compatible with that feature? But yeah i tried the aux and ipod port and everything is finally working!

Thanks for everyone's help.

SL rocks

Glad you got Scion Corporate to straighten your dealership out.

Sadly it takes that sometimes.

Take care!
