Default brand new stock tc..transmission is jerking..is that normal?

ok i got my RS1 for about a month now..bone stock nothing on it. i've been trying to install an alarm in it but its being difficult rite now and doesnt want to work. so a couple days later the CEL comes on..can that be because of the alarm? i didnt think it could but not sure. now i notice this weird jerk whenever i shift to reverse (btw i have an auto). its not some barely noticeable jerk..its like if u let ur foot off the gas for a bit then push the brakes really hard..but then again its not like some crazy jerk..its still very noticeable though.. this monday imma take it back to the dealership to get it checked out. what do yall think about this?

i think if you dont know how to install an alarm, dont attempt it!

The jerk in your transmission most likely is "normal"

And yes, If you crossed some wires under your dash, you can thrown a CEL.

sounds like you might have a blown fuse from when you installed the alarm... were you attempting remote start too? make sure to check ALL the fuses, in particular the little red ones under your hood... if you blew one its possible your engine is running super lean... after driving, is your exaust header/pre-cat glowing red hot? thats bad :-p i'd have a reputable shop do the alarm install... they are NOT for the inexperienced.

go back to the dealership and just argue that it was all their fault...lol jj.....just get it checked out rather than attempting the problem yourself, dont wanna cause any more problems

it was my bro who's an experienced alarm installer. he was just installing a basic alarm system that works with the factory FOB. he gets it to work, but after running the car fr more than 5 min, the alarm stops working. so far everything works just fine. we're gona go to autozone to see what the CEL code is before going to the dealer. i dont think i'm running lean. i never messed with the ECU.

the jerk is really noticeable. it wasnt like that when the car was 1k and under. well, gota get the code checked. thanks for the replies.

Mine jerked a few times in the beginning too (coming up on 3000 now) but it was when I shifted from R to D, not when I shift it INTO R... it would sort of pause for a sec and jerk, then shift like nothing ever happened. Only did it to me 2 or 3 times max. Hasn't in a while now...

R to D is ok, but P to R is rough.

got the codechecked, its a code P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction. it could be the alarm wire is tapped into the wrong thing. so i'ma take out the whole alarm and see if it sticks around.
