Burning Smell on my tC?
I dont know what it is..but almost everytime i get out of my tC there is like a faint burning smell. It's not the clutch because that smells terrible i know from when my friend burnt his clutch...STINKY!, it's more of a like brake smell...could it be from the brakes? I dont drive much either, i have had my car 11 months and only have 6600.
Any thoughts of what it could be?

It might be possibly that i am still breaking mine in? Since i dont drive far places whatsoever. I dunno, i guess nothing to worry about. I mean if it was the clutch you would know beacuse that smells god aweful.

my brakes never smell unless i am slamming them on, racing or something. just smell around your wheels, see if any one in particular's got it. pop the hood. doubtful its there but you never know. just give it time, it should go away.
or take it to the dealership!
or take it to the dealership!

Well i dont ride the brakes....maybe some of the tire spray got on them..but that would burn off quicker, i am not sure..if i get down there..you can smell it, sometimes you can smell it if you have the a/c it comes through the vents. It's not all the time either..just every now and then, it's very wierd. I guess i shouldnt worry about it.
By the way it's the same smell i smelt when i first bought the car, and drove it home.

Check the heat on the back floorboard
I noticed a faint smell in my car...I had thrown a t-shirt in the back a couple of days earlier. It had fallen across the hump in the back floorboard. I picked up the t-shirt inadvertenly and noticed that it was extremely hot. If there is anything over that hump, check it out!

no..nothing over the hump. I dont keep anything in my car.
It has to be the brakes...like i said before it cannot be the clutch because that smell is terrible..and this smell isnt bad at all, it's just there. Maybe it's just the normal HOT smell of the tC engine? i dunno.
