so is scion saying a place like mcgeorgeparts.com which is actually a scion dealer in virginia.. is violating the covenant with Scion? I've heard that as long as they sell at a fixed price for everyone then they aren't in violation.. and that fixed price can be below list price..

I thought the "fixed price" on the scion website includes installation and everything... part of their pure price bull?

Partznet is actually a dealership near Philly. Its their parts guys that buy the parts direct from Toyota's warehouse. Similar to asking your local dealer at the parts department. Also all toyota parts department will have different prices. Either online or local. Just drive from one local dealer to the next and ask pricing of a certain item, either Toyota or Scion accesories. It will be different. The parts department is not governed by the covenant only when selling the car.

I have to say mcgeorgeparts.com rules. I ordered springs yesterday, they were $10 cheaper then partznet AND they had free shipping! They also already shipped. Partznet seems to be good, but Id say mcgeorgeparts.com has them beat.

You can buy parts online, and install them at any dealer (not that there are any tC parts now that need to be installed at the dealer yet).

I bought the supercharger for my Matrix from a friend (a parts manager for one of the dealers in Texas), and got it installed at a dealer here in Atlanta. The car was serviced under warranty all over Atlanta - nobody ever cared where the SC was bought, or even where was it installed - everybody assumed that it was installed by a dealer.

Default Beware dealer installation faux pas, foible, blunder...

I drove 90 minutes back to the dealer where I purchased my tC to have the spoiler installed. It was 104 degrees there and the last place I wanted to be. I had to take the day off work without pay of course. I dropped my car off at 11:00 AM. They called my cell phone at 3:00 PM to say they neglected to order the installation template and therefore couldn't install it! Could I come back tomorrow? During this time someone took my car for a joyride 'cause it had miles on it when I picked it up!
