-like mentioned above no v-8 j-body's.
and no v6 post 95.....2.3 was a pretty cool car.
-my sunfire was a hand me down...made the best of it *sigh*....yes lots 'o'parts...and cheap too. not to mention ill give people a run for their money with a 3 spd aut sunfire
-i love the 929...ive had it for lil over a year, i am a pretty good rider....love the new r1's, but i am partial to honda after riding the 929, now i want the new 1000RR or the rc51
-good luck in getting a new bike...i came from an rm125 and loved it..great bike.
but all said and done when the td is turbo'd i think i may have a new favorite

He must have meant Fbody.
The 3.4 v6 Fbody is total crap! When I owned a 95 automatic 3.4, I got spanked many times by my nephew's stock Civic... and keep in mind that I had an intake, catback flowmaster, Jet chip, and underdrive pulley. His civic dx, was a non-vtec motor, and stock could beat my v6! It was a rude awakening.
I can believe that a GT-S spanks the 3.4... don't know about the 3.8's, never owned one. I know it'd never come close to a 5.7 engine.

I had a 98 Sunfire GT, it wasn't a bad car. Made cheap, but it was what we needed at the time for a second car. I actualy beat a few crappy ricers with it, but than they probly couldn't drive either and was all stock under the hood. I just hated that it was auto, but it was for the ex-wife and not me.

Sorry I have heard people call the newer Camaros J-Body's and thats what I thought it was. But yes for your information my 2002 Celica GT-S could take a WS6 Firebird. I have beat many V-8's with that car, so don't tell me what I have done because I have witnesses. "American Muscle" is not all that great because 300hp in a 4000lb car does not equal fast. My dad has a 99' Mallet Corvette that is 450RWHP and that is fast, not these _____ Camaro's and Firebird's running around.

ok, now that i stopped laughing, there is over a second difference in the quarter mile between these 2 cars.
unless you had a supercharger, turbo, or nitrous on the GTS there is no way you could even hang with an automatic LS1 or LT1.

You guys can talk all you want but I have beaten many V-8's with that Celica. I know what those cars run in the quarter and I never said we raced at the track. I also never said we raced from a stop. Most races vs. V-8's I encountered were from about a 20-30mph roll. If you guys had the first clue about a Celica GT-S you would know they are very very quick from a roll. I have a friend with an 04 Corolla-S and it takes V-8's with only a 35hp shot of nitrous. about 90% of V-8's are slow as hell from a roll, since they weigh ohh lets see like 3800lbs and have the aerodynamics of a barn door.

a WS6 (auto or stick) would destroy a celica from a stop or any MPH roll. you're a moron if you think different.

This is too funny. . . I havn't checked the board in days. . . thanks for the overwhelming responses. I would probably NEVER own an F body, because of maintainence issues, but if it runs, you will never catch one. THEY ARE FAST. . . and the camaro looks like a friggin door stop; a wedge on wheels. . . a helluva lot more aerodynamic than a Celica.
And a Camaro weighs 3,450lbs, not 3,800. The stock Z28 makes 305hp and 335 lbft. The SS makes a lot more. . . and out accelerates a base Corvette (Chevy intentionally under stated power, as to not shame the 'vette). It's well known and well documented. Throw on some bolt ons and they'll produce upwards of 350hp with a much fatter power curve. And the power comes on and very low RPM's, vs having to wait for the cams. Give em NOS like your make believe Corolla buddy (to keep the game even) and you start lookin like a joke.
If you ever beat a V8 F body, sorry guy, he wasn't racing. That or the guy had so much power he was spinnin the tires (which is easy in those cars and takes effort in most 4 bangers).
Mind you, I love the Celica. . . it's a great car, and will probably do better on a track that involves stopping and turning. But it's in no way whatsoever faster. . . not even close.

Dude, off the line, you could take him on the skateboard. Power to weight! You could even wear some ballons to decrease your weight! Go to the dentist, inhale some NAAAWWWSSS, throw on some VVTiL stickers on your butt, and you'll be a 10 second car/board. YOu gotta live your life a quarter mile at a time man. For those 10 seconds or less, you're free.
