Default Can you program your key to remote start your engine?

I got interested in getting a remote starter for my car. The man in the shop offered $190 for the install, but I'd have to carry around another key fob thing. I was wondering if I can buy the aftermarket remote start and install it myself and save the cash for the install. (They charge $100 + $90 since we have security chips in our keys). I should be able to buy the starter for like $80.

I know you'd have to program the computer in my car. Is it hard to do that? I know there are ways to program the key fob as well. I was wondering if anyone has remote start in their car.

Also, can I program the key to open/close windows?

Dont think its possible to fit. The Original guts that our stock keys have already fills the whole space so you wont have any space.

Do you guys think $190 is worth it for just remote start? It won't damage your car right?

Save and get a full alarm system? I wouldn't think it is worth just getting a remote start. But sometimes people don't want to drop $600 to protect their car.

I paid $530 for my remote starter. It was really expensive because i have a manual. The guy was very professional and explained all the safety measures they take so that the car won't start while in gear. Best thing about it was the guy didn't have to disable the chip in the key which most cheapo places do. If while the car is started you try and take off without the key the car dies. Also if someone breaks into the car you still need the key to start.

I have my aftermarket remote start unit setup with my factory keyfob, but there are drawbacks to how both will operate together.

Also, you will definitely need some kind of immobilizer bypass module in the car.
