CEL Light Spasiums
Grr. Hopefully this is a known problem or some. Im getting tired of seeing this thing flash like a christmas tree have a seizure. Basically my check engine like keeps coming on then a day later or whenever it feels like it will go off. Then few days later back on. First i thought the gas cap wasnt tight so we tightened it down and BLAM it went off. Then it came back on.
Could it be a faulty gas cap? Or maybe a loose vacuum hose or something. Anyone else ever have this problem.
Regards!

Ok, First question is have you done any performance modifications to the car? Second, how many miles are on it? The gas-cap/door are not wired into anything that would cause a CEL. The quality of the gas you are using, or a dirty filter somewhere could cause that problem. You could check the vacuum hoses but this car has very few of them.
The easiest thing to do is go to your local Autozone and check out a code reader with your license and it will give you a better place to start looking. Some of you may remember the failed Fm experiment of the XFI, cross-fire injection, that had alot of vacuum hoses running all over the engine and were prone to failure.

Ok, I promise you that I'm not trying to incite an argument, This is 1 of my 3 pet peeves in life. You're not a bad person, you're great, I love you and everything you do. You're great.
Spasm.
That's it, I'm sorry, I'm an English major intending to eventually be a college professor. Please don't hate me, you're wonderful.
Holy ____ don't be mad at me. This is so intense. Gotta breathe.

Actually the most common cause of this IS a gas door thats not tight. It registers as a leak to the ECU. I would also check the spark plugs because their may be a mis-fire somewhere that only happens during certain times. But have that code read because that will tell us much more about the problem.
