Default CF Hood Insulation?

I'm looking for suggestions as to what type of under-hood insulation is best. I really want to protect my carbon fiber hood from the high temps. I'd really like something that's trim to fit, and self adheres.

Thanks!

It can't be good for your engine to reflect all that heat back at it right?

lol i think every car has a heat reflection shield, if you dont, im pretty sure you paint job would get messed up pretty quickly, or in this case i think it causes the CF to fade rather quickly

Yes, and the turbo puts out a good bit of heat. Therein lies the problem.

Just make sure you use the tool designed to remove the old plugs that hold the old insulation in and also use a good new drill bit and a bit stop so you drill safely and not go through the hood........

the SEIBON even has dimples wehre the original plugs go in at.......just drill the dimple.it came out great and hid his washer fluid hose......

I am gonna add mine cut down a bit to my Kaminari hood if I ever get off my butt........

Well there you go, But in all honesty, does the factory really act as any significant heat shield, or more of a sound deadner? Because have you ever touched your hood after you just drive for a bit, your hood is decently hot, so if its and actual "heatshield" I dont see it doing a very good job. But then again I have been wrong before...
