Not sure if it's a "mod", but I'm seeing replacement light bars for the center brake light on eBay. Where the factory ones are clear, this one seems to be blacked out. I like the thought but not sure how it would look on my nautical blue 07. Anyone have experience replacing their LED bar? How'd it go for you?

Just replying to help others as well with the same question. My third brake light is aftermarket with a red lens and lights up full not just the center portion as the stock light. It's not hard to install. The rear hatch plastic cover needs to be opened to gain access to the bolts for the light. I have to advise though that the aftermarket third brake lights tend to separate as the adhesive used is not strong to bond the lens and the back piece of the unit. I trashed my first unit and the second unit also separated. Instead of getting a replacement for the second unit which was going to separate again. I repaired my second unit with a stronger adhesive and then used a soldering iron to melt the seam all the way around the seal to further strengthen it. This separation might not happen to all the aftermarket third brake lights out there but just advising.
