Check Engine Light P2103 P2112
I need some help with some CEL's that I am getting on my 2005 TC.
I hooked up my Scangauge II and I got P2103 (Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High). The car would start but it would rev up and then shut down.
I cleared this code and then I started getting a P2112 (Throttle Actuator Control System – Stuck Closed). Now the car won't start.
Do you guys know what the problem is and what the possible fix might be? Does the car's DBW system need replacement or reprogramming? Right now the car isn't running so it would have to be towed to the dealership if I can't get it fixed at home. Thanks.

this is what was happening to me a few months back. i have an 05 also. i was throwing the same codes and had to limp the car to the dealer. i found out (this is what the mechanics told me...) that the throttle sensors are part of the throttle body. therefor they had to replace the whole throttle body. 900.00 part + labor. thank god i had the extended warranty...
i also had and have an injen cia which did not bother the dealer. i talked to to mechanic "off the record" and he stated that the cia wasn't at fault.
my extended warranty is not through toyota so i do not know if they needed to replace the whole TB or if it was easier to do that. usually you can replace the sensor. the mechanic stated "not in this car, you have to replace the whole TB assembly". that is a very expensive sensor.
good luck man.

I just spoke with my local Scion dealership and also called Scion's Customer Service line and they both confirmed that the throttle body is not covered under the powertrain warranty. It is covered under the basic warranty which has, unfortunately, already expired on the car.

really? Wow I would definitely expect it to be covered under the powertrain warranty. Id try and go to a couple dealerships and try and get it covered. Could you maybe just get a throttle body off a junk yard tc maybe? Im not exactly sure how it works or what needs to be changed tho...
