It's really not that hard if you're doing it correctly and applying enough lubrication (quick detail spray) for the clay to glide on. The turtle wax liquid clay stuff SUCKS, i've tried and it didn't do jack squat for me.

Most probably. I had a ton of specks of white paint on one side of my car along the side skirts and on the rear bumper. I clay bar'd them out a few days ago. Worked like a charm but required a bit of elbow grease to get it all off.

lookin good brother.

claybar is something you do every 5-6 months or so at MOST. some guy on here said he clayed his car every wash and it dulled his clearcoat so much the car wasnt shiny anymore.

Yea, I noticed the clay leaves a bit of residue behind and you have to work at wiping it off.

I think the residue will build up over time? or does it really rub the clear coat off?

what I do notice at the clay, is that the metallic flakes really stand out much more than before.

EDIT

I did a search and turns out claybars are an abrasive, so yea, doing it too often will rub away the clear coat. But this is my first clay since Ive owned the car 1 year ago.

mental note: clay sparringly, wax often
