its prolly a safety feature slash comfort feature. they may have thought that someone might have something stuck up there....or that is the ideal spot to ride at if you are cruising above 45 mph's, whichi is the max recommended ride speed of having the sunroof completely open.
never know...but it stops at the same spot on the open also. so im pretty sure thats it.

The tC's moonroof will stop while opening at the 75% open position and stop again while closing at the 25% open position. According to Scion, these two positions are supposed to be the two positions creating the least amount of wind noise at high and low speeds. (25% open for highway speeds and 75% open for cruising around town)
Take it for what you will.....

my sunroof actually stopped working a while back.
it got off track, and one side was opening faster than the other. all of a sudden it was stuck and the motor started grinding and the cables were all twisted.
took a couple weeks to get parts in. but it's fixed now. =]

"scion" doesnt recomment keeping your roof open on the highway. When i move onto it, i put it into 1/4 closing position and open the windows partiallly. Its nice but i dont want a rock to hit it. especially with how our aerodynamics work.
