I just realized on my tC the coin or change thing might open the wrong way. When it opens it opens towards the rear of the car.
But I just saw a pic of it opening towards the front of the car which would make more sense.

Can anyone help me which way the coin thing is supposed to face!!

I know I've taken apart the console a few times... never checked if I could change the way it opened... but WTF... Am I confused.

Are you talking about the one right in front of the cup holders? because i use that for a cell phone holder, it fits perfecly

I think U can remove the console and turn it around..so it'll open forwards..??

u cant flip it around. ive taken my center console apart, and the coin holder is one piece with the cupholders.

 

so wtf where did this console come from?>... possible just fake? or never made it?

I use it as a cell holder too. the power plug is right next to the shifter.

 

maybe it's a factory defective tC...

i think those pictures are from the concept.. there was a footnote somewhere that said "actual production may vary".. i remember reading that.. I like that it flips back.. easier in my opinion

 

I'd think if it'd open forward like that, then you might keep closing it unintentionally in a manual by shifting to fourth and letting your hand drop.

I dunno. I'm happy with it opening the way it does. And yeah, my cell fits perfect in there too.

Mine lips back, and i use it for my cell as well! good spot for it!

Mine opens from the bottom... first you have to put the car on a lift...... heh heh

Ok... I had to mess with it.

But seriously, I use mine for the cell holder as well.... it is perfect! And to add to that, I bought a new phone the other day, a Moto V265... I didn't notice it for a couple of days, but the phone looks just like the interior of the car :-) I looked down at it in that holder, and realized that it has the same color silver/grey down both sides, and a the center is black, the same way the console is trimmed lol....
