Your dealer is full of crap. But hold on... I'll see what I can find in TSB land.

I'm really not sure about the hatch. I've heard something about it though. Have you tried a search yet? I'll take a quick look and see if I can find any info...

ack, if you can get a general link of where to look up Toyota Service Bulletins That would probably be a good link on for your initial post.

I think we have them in the Maintenance and Car Care thread... but I'll add either the direct link or the link to that thread... momentarily.

Ive been searching forums - any idea what this is? Some days mine is quiet other days theres a rattle in the same areas...I'm trying to wait until it gets bad enough the dealer can't help but hear it. I love the car so I'm trying to troubleshoot - this fix would make it perfect.

I'd like to know a fix for when the sunroof won't close all the way - the pinch protection is activating before the sunroof fully closes. In my case, the car is in the shop at the dealer having this "repaired". AGAIN. Because, it seems, even the dealer doesn't know how to permanently repair this problem...

That happened to me occasionally when it was hot here. They may just need to lube the track - or you can try what Twzted suggested.

I was kind of hoping to be able to close the sunroof when I'm driving on a highway, especially if it starts to rain, without having to pull over first.

Could it be that the springs that push up the deflector are too forceful and need to be replaced with weaker springs? Would that have adverse affects like making it not shut firmly when closed?

It got to where it consistently would be a problem every time. I could make it close by reaching up with my left hand and holding the front flap closed while closing it with my right hand, but I can't do that while driving since I don't have a third hand for the steering wheel. I've already had it in the dealership twice, and both times they were able to consistently reproduce the problem too, but they could find no underlying cause of the problem except that it needed more grease. If its a lubrication issue, they should just put some grease in it with each oil change. I suspect its a more complicated problem and that the pinch protection is set too sensitive. The car has only 12,000 miles on it.

Default Rattles

Does anyone have a problem with there glovebox rattling really bad?? Everytime I take it to the dealership they say they can't reproduce the problem, but as soon as I start the car it rattles. I am starting to think they just do not want to fix the problem. Also I am hearing a lot of you saying that there is a rear rattle that is coming from the rear sun roof. I have been trying to figure that out for a while not, thank you.
