Cool Computer Codes

Can someone please tell me how to repair my car? 06 scion tc.. I keep getting these codes : PO441 and PO455

have you done anything recent to the car?

intake stuff? check your hoses...
and tighten your gas cap until it clicks a couple of times.

Most likely a vacuum leak or faulty gas cap/not screwed on properly.

Edit: there could be a hairline crack in the gas tank filler neck or return line/seal.

P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Flow
p0455 - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Gross Leak)

Possible causes:
1)Defective or loose fuel cap
2)EVAP canister or hose cracked
3)Purge or vent solenoid defective
4)Vacuum in EVAP system

9 times out of 10 when a yota comes into the shop and throws that code its gas cap. Either it wasn't on tight or the gasket can be damaged. Other then that it's most likely a fitting on your canister or the canister itself is cracked.
