Dadgummit, I scratched my trunk lid...
I left the trunk open, and accidentally opened the garage door, the linkage of that garrage door caught the top part of the trunk lid. a 6 inch long scratch went through the center break light. Clear coat are left with a ____ line.
What should I do? Is this something I can fix by myself? Or I need to take it to a body shop?
I am kicking myself right now...

same thing happened to me! i brought my car to the shop to install my springs... They put the car on the lift with the trunk open... BAM! it hits the top if the garage door and a big scratch on the panel below the trunk light. good thing this peice is removable so they can take it to a paint place to repaint it...

can you feel it with your fingernail? if so, it might be too deep, but it's still workable, unless it went down to paint or primer
easiest way is to goto a store and pick up some meguairs scratch x, it's a rubbing compound, so it will smooth out the ridges and make the scratch less noticable, apply it and buff it with a microfiber cloth.
