Actually the hatched did. The spoiler was mounted to the fenders, and when the hatch flew off it took the spoiler with it.
Here is DIRECTLY from the article:

Apparently the carbon fiber rear hatch broke off from it's aluminum mounts, and took the rear wing with it as it sheared off the car.

Also, if you look at the pictures, one of them shows one of the mounts that broke, and the hatch missing from the car.

atleast he is ok, the car is fixable, but if something serious happned to Chris, that would have been aweful.
