E-Brake adjust
#41
i am going to check that adjust thing next time i rotate my tires. My 06 tc's ebrake have to be pull up very high. It looks like standing 90 degree. I am going to count how many clicks tonight for a full stop. The good part is , it made take out the center console very easy.

Mine does around 11 clicks, 12+ requiring slight effort. I may have to try this. So let me get this straight, I remove my wheel, rotate the hub so that the hole is at 6 o clock, and then insert a screwdriver and turn? Lefty loosey, righty tighty?

BUMP-
Which way do you go to tighten? Because on the left side you (logically) would go up to tighten (or have the adjusting bolt move out). When you go to the right, the bolt is reverse and you'd logically go down to move the bolt out.
So the service manual is messed up. So someone help me out. I just want to put one or two clicks more on the e-brake without having to go the whole way to tighten and then loosen.
Someone help! I'm confused

you have most of it right, but you don't actually spin the screw driver you just wedge it inbetween the teeth of the silver gear (pictured above) and i'm pretty sure up is to tighten

bump again
so is it up to tighten on BOTH sides? the adjustment bolt is actually reversed when moving from the left side to the right side. I didn't want to have to tighten it all the way (then i'd know which direction is tightening) just needed a click or two tighter, just forgot which direction it is to tighten.

I just did my parking brake adjustment and I was wrong, it is not different directions but the same direction. Tightened them til the rotor (with one lugnut on to keep everything together) couldn't move, then loosened it 8 times by moving it one tooth at a time. Perfect now!
- Move star adjustment wheel up (bottom to top) it will tighten/expand the parking brake shoe/pads
- Move star adjustment wheel down (top to bottom) it will loosen/contract the parking brake shoe/pads
