That is NOT something you should want to get used to sure it works the same way every time not unreliable but the throttle will always be a few seconds behind that is not good enough for me when you figure the problem out, if you do id like to know
as for me i already e-mailed scion and im waiting for a call back
yeah there isnt a problem. that is how it is designed to work. electronics work that way. it is more effecient (less moving parts). i hate it though cause im used to cable throttles. i love the reaction of a cable throttled gas pedal.

I asked Scion, and they said their engineers have not made the information available yet... my question to them was how long the delay was between when I hit the gas pedal, and when the throttle responds. I'm sure its in the millisecond range. Someone here said its a few seconds delay... wheres my BS flag?!

ive driven many other cars with electronic throttles just as this car and never seen this much hesitation it can be changed

maybe they can take the delay out and the car will know you wanna go fast before you even touch the throttle

Or how about moving the pedal sensor to the left side of the steering wheel and hooking up a trigger (like a small bicycle brake lever or something.) No need for heel-and-toe downshifting then!

hell ya ill have em put an ps2 controller in and take the steering wheel out and use that!

no joke i met a guy in daytona that used the power mirror buttons in the door to steer w/out a steering wheel, he also had 3 19" touchscreen monitors in the dash where the steering wheel and air bags used to be , the gauges showed up on the screens very accuretly, you could drive the car from the left seat or the right and the front lights were sealed and had gold fish w/ bubbles in them!
he hooked the "joystick" up to a motor to the steering and you could only steer the car with that. it worked for normal driving but you were constatly trying to adjust the steering as no roads are perfectly straight
it was a vw bug 100% custom pretty crazy ____
