Default Engine Codes like P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit (HELP)

Will replacing my TCC Solenoid ($100) solve my P0741 engine code? I can answer any questions that can help me with my engine code I've been having for 2-3 years.

Scion tC 06 w/ 100k mileage.

Some of the on and off symptoms: loss of power, doesn't go over 40mph on the bridge, rpm dramatically goes high at low speed, lower mpg.

I did a tune-up; spark plugs, engine, coolant, transmission fluid, steering, ignition coils, short ram intake filter cleaned.

Please ask me questions that relates to my car so I can possibly fix it once and for all

Yeah dude, the TCCC is bad. It's not activating the lock-up. That's what you need. The solenoid went bad, especially since you replaced all that other stuff. And the fact that it's jumping RPM's tells me its definitely not locking up which means the solenoid isn't doing its job.

Thanks.

Do you know how much it cost for the part + labor?

It's going to be about a $600 part. My buddies solenoid went bad on his 2012 Tundra, and he was better off replacing the entire transmission. So instead, he didn't replace jack and just bought a 2013 Tundra. But as far as a Scion, not sure on how difficult or extensive man.

I will probably bring it to a Toyota dealer or a local Auto transmission to find out the estimate AND to make sure that the solenoid is absolutely the way to fix it so I don't waste time and money.
