Sorry if this was asked before. I didn't see it though.

I want to take off the tC's engine cover. But before I do I want to make sure it doesn't have any benefits to having it on. Does it absorb heat or anything?

Also, how do you take it off? It feels like it's glued on or something. Can I just pry it off or are there screws that I need to remove? Thanks..

 

Why do you want to take it off? It helps prevent water from entering the engine and messing with the coils. To take it off, use a 10mm socket and loosen the two nuts on the top of the cover. It comes off pretty easy.

 

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna take it off at least just to see the engine. Though I may put it back on afterward.

 

Mine's been off since I've had it. No problems. Gonna wrinkle paint it when it gets warm.

 

Wrinkle paint? Never heard of that.

 

Wrinkle paint is used on Ferrari's. You have to take off the valve cover and bake it. Looks really sweet.
