Default Eyebrow-headlight area-turn signal?

Okay had a thought.. the eyebrow area of the headlights.. i was thinking of a mod that would put parking light LED's in that area.. then when the turn signal comes on, they blink sequentially from inner to outer, staying lit until the cycle reaches the last outer LED.. So they would be both parking lights, but when the turn signals come on they would also blink sequentially..

Anyone know who might do a mod like this?

Then again if you dotn have the know how putting a pair of amber cold cathodes wouldn't be bad either.

Wow that really is a good idea! I'm not one for purely asthetic visual mods, but this one is pretty cool. You could also make each of the LEDs in the sequence a slightly different shade of whatever color you want, like for example going from light blue in the center to dark blue on the outside.

colors would be cool, except the cops wouldn't like it.. most turn signals are regulated to be a certain color from the front and the rear according to the law.. was thinking an amber or orange color.. and like the old 60's cougars that had sequential turn signals.. not like knight rider.. they would illuminate one after another until they all were lit, then the sequence would restart.. from inner to outer, showing the direction of the turn.. just wanted to keep the colors the same since then the cops wouldn't be able to bother us..

glad everyone thinks it's a great idea..

I knew it would require some relays and circuit boarrd know-how.. I just don't have the equipment. But thought it would be a great mod.. props goes out to tcjayde as well that mentioned to me about putting lights in the eyebrow area. Then it hit me to put both functions into the eyebrow area the parking lights and turn signals and thus this post..

the thing about having sequential LEDs though.

a single LED won't be really bright enough to be noticed (especially during the daytime) if the entire row blinked with the markers--yes it would work (with Superflux LEDs).

and the color would have to be Amber. if they were blue and blinke sequentially--cops definitely wouldn't like it.

i do know someone who could be up for something like this...

a guy on the hidplanet.com/forums by the name of AZDAVE. he does VERY professional work with LEDs, with custom etched and cut boards, heatsinks, regulators, custom circuits, etc. etc. and whatnot... (really...his work is amazing)

I didn't necessarily want blue. I figured maybe pink or white if possible. But, I don't know if I could get pink without it looking red and I don't know if white would be a good idea. It may end up looking different from what I am thinking in my mind...

white would work since in CA the color of the front turn signals are legal if they're in the yellow to white spectrum. i would avoid pink. it might come out looking like red and attract the cops, or it could be hot pink and make you look metro and attract other unwanted attention.

Ok! I live in a small little town in Vincennes. So, our cops leave us alone for the most part, except when it comes to lights under the body. So, I know I want white now. All I have to do is find someone who can do them. I would do it myself. But, I don't want to hurt my baby...

I've seen these cheapy stick-on LED signal arrows that you can stick on your rearview mirrors. Why not gut that for the LEDs and related wiring and attach them behind the eybrows to light them up.
Anyone up to doing that cheap mod!!!

Chombi
