Five Axis Widebody tC... How much are you willing to spend?
Five Axis Scion Widebody tC kit.... How much would you be willing to fork over for this unique body kit?
I just got back from SEMA and the most asked question was.... "How much for the body kit and where can I get one?"
So I place the questions in your hands... my loyal prospective customers (most of you).
1. How much would you spend for this kit?
2. Would you like to see the carbon spoilers as an option if it meant a $500 difference?
3. The kit would most likely be fiberglass. Urethane is too expensive for a short run production and has big issues with shrinkage and sag.
I would appreciate your postings regarding this. I am definitlely looking into producing a short run production 500 - 1000 pieces. Your feedback will play a big part in this.
Also please keep the responses constructive. I already know what you don't like. The other posting covered that. All I want to know is how much you'd be willing to spend. Remember too... that this will be a "quality" kit and we're not talking 1/4" gaps and waved out surfaces here.
Thanks for your responses!!!!

I really love the kit!! The front is a lil weird at the bottom though. And I would only consider it if the rear was all fiberglass to be painted to match the car. I don't like the black. But hmmmmm....I dunno. $1500? How many pieces would it be? Just trying to compare.....

I was gonna say $2000 and maybe $300-$400 for a CF wing, but creativecompacts' Tiburon has a kit that is 15 pieces and it sells for $2000 through him. This kit looks like less pieces, and without a wing, $1500 is enough. His kit replaces everything on that car. But somewhere around there.....it's an awesome kit. I love how it looks as though it came like that. Nothing cheap about this one!

I'm thinking $1,500, but I'd need to know what all the kit would consist of. How many and which pieces? Which pieces are replaced (front, rear?), which are added on (quarter panels?). Also, what did you mean by having the CF spoiler as an option? Are you talking about the bottom of the front? What would be there if the CF spoiler wasn't there?

As far as I could tell from the 5axis site, the kit is more than a bolt on
I don't think there is any way to replace the rear 1/4's but maybe replacements for the entire front end would be a better option? At least better than the bodyshop option as seen in the install build photography on the 5axis site.

for the quality of thek it i know its going to be and the fitment..i know molding has to be done, if i had a tc, id be more than down to get this kit..id prolly be lookin to spend at least 2500 or more. no biggie the kit for my last car was 2 grand and it was just a lip kit lol. but yeah, 2500 or more would be my price point for the quality going into it..this aint no made in taiwan crap lol

I believe the rear 1/4s are replaced, because it's a wide body. How else did they make it wider? I know most of you don't like tctunerz, but he has pics of them building this car (site is down right now),but I am pretty sure that the kit would be front and rear end, sides, and at least rear 1/4s. Not sure about the front. Think they are just flairs. Gotta remember though, after you buy the kit, you have to have it molded, and that's NOT cheap!

I have a question for you guys. How wide of a wheel do you think would be needed to make a widebody kit look right? I'm just gonna use the TRD springs, so I'm not going for the tucked and slammed look. I only want 18s, and I havent found any wider then 8" that were reasonably priced. Will those look good with a widebody kit, or would I need wheel spacers?
What size are the rims on the 5Axis model?

the rear 1/4s ar not replacements... in order to do that, you'd need to cut the panels off with a jig or plasma cutter. According to the build essay, they did a lot of bodyshopping ie: "bondo" and sanding. The installation labor will exceed the kit price, and personally, I'd rather have 5axis OR a referred 5Axis Bodyshop install it.
I'm sure that any price they offer will be good.
