Default funny looking TC....am i the only one...

I went back to the dealer to buy my TC... did another test drive and stopped and really looked at it....It seems that the hood is to short and the back wheels look goofy........I left with out the car I have wanted from the start has anyone else felt the same after seeing it in daylight?????

Default actually...

i actually thought the same thing. it looks kind of weird from the back. but the rest of car makes up for it. it's hard to find a perfect car out there for that price.

i thought it coulda used a larger hood and smaller doors. there is a lot of space inside, perhaps too much.

It's a two door relatively long wheelbase sedan with a hatchback grafted on. It's pushing the limits of rationaility already. They didn't modify the Avensis platform at all. The wheelbase is exactly the same. Before the dealer thug squad tries to argue on this point, here are the specs:

http://www.toyota.co.uk/cgi-bin/toyo...sp?id=homepage
http://www.scion.com/drive/features/tc_specs.html

Looks better when there are four doors occupying the same space as two, doesn't it?

there's nothing like a good lowerin' to fix your woes...

I felt the tC looked a little goofy in person too, but I realized thats merely because it rides far too high.

^^ nice chop....it does look better with 4 doors...i test drove one the other day..i was not impressed at all...i dont like the textured plastic deashboard. And the car is DEF. not for tall people..im 6'4", and althought the drivers seat feels lower then the passenger seat, it was an uncomfortable rde either way..exterior has a nice look to me...but i just cant fit in it..i love my box

the tC would fill it's weird rear end void if it had suicide doors....

courtesy of zoohay's pic...

how the suicide doors would open without touching/denting the door/body is beyond me. That's for the engineers...I'm a arts major...

I feel the same as everyone else posting. I finally saw one here in Mass. on Saturday and thought there just wasn't something right about the car.

Toyota should have copied from Saturn's playbook:

That's no chop. That's the Toyota Avensis.

I think dark colors mask size better than bright ones, which is why luxury sedans, minivans, and SUVs come in them.

I'm sure the reason why Toyota didn't add two more "Ion style" doors to the car is because of that glass roof. Those doors require getting rid of the b-pillar. They couldn't co-exsist with the holes in roof without making the structure flop around. There are already some other threads where people are complaining about squeaking and groaning from that roof area just going over bumps. I guess Toyota decided that a moonroof that cuts into your headroom ranks higher on the kiddie-cool scale than useable doors for cargo and the like.

I think the suicide doors looks crappy on the tC. And the Avensis?...no thank you...if I want a Corolla i'd buy one.

As for the tC being a little "different looking"...isn't that what makes it a Scion? It's supposed to be funky...you wouldn't want it to look like a Toyota would you?

I think it looks awesome
