FYI - Factory installed tC oil filter (part# 90915-10004)
This is FYI...i just called Michael's Toyota (www.michaelstoyota.com/888-224-0001) and ordered 20 of these. The parts guy, Patrick said there are less than 100 of these left in the US. I didn't want to deal with local dealers who kept saying 90915-YZZA2 for tC. I think i am OK for the next 100K miles (20x5000m) :D

filters
Ok... I don't have my tC yet and I haven't looked into filters too much, but what are the differences between these two parts? Is there really a big deal going on? Usually the stock dealer filters are kinda crap anyway - obviously this other part fits or they couldn't install it at all. Please tell me what the difference between these two filters is?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The 90915-10004 is the one the car comes with and it's made in Japan. The 90915-YZZA1 looks almost the same, but is made in the U.S.A. The 90915-YZZA2 is for the Camry 4-cyl and is noticably smaller in height, but also fits.

This is a small displacement motor, so you will not have a problem if the filter is a bit smaller. Have you ever seen the filters for most Nissan or Honda cars and trucks? Tiny little things!
I wonder who makes the filters for Toyota in the USA? I'm thinking maybe Purolator, but I could be wrong. Anything would be better than those crappy Fram oil filters which use CARDBOARD anti-drain back valves.
