Lawl @ the funny thread. Just man up and own up right now. The court will send a receipt of payment and any further instructions to your house, and the envelope will have a big courthouse seal on the front.

Yeah. I was thinking maybe I would go to the courthouse and pay in person, they might not send anything to me then

Dude just forget about finding a way out of this and own up to what you did. I didn't notice if you mentioned how old you are, but I was 17 and living with my parents when I got my first speeding ticket. My parents were even paying my insurance at that time too. I decided to just grow some ***** and confess right from the start.

Dude man the eff up. 6 months without your car sucks, but thats 6 months atleast that you will KNOW nothing bad will happen to it. No scratches, no dings, nothing.

Sure it will suck but hey, its your fault. You were speeding, you got pulled over and got the ticket. You probably deserve it taken away for a while that way you will be more responsible about driving.

There is a time and place for everything, speeding is reserved for the track. End of story.

We all do dumb things, its wether we learn from them that determines if its worth it. You hiding it from your parents, even if you succeed..the only thing you will learn is the fact you can get away with it.

Stop acting like a little boy and starting acting like an adult.

When i got a ticket once going 120mph on I-85, i told my parents. I paid for the car, insurance, parts, everything so they didn't do much of anything. But at least they applauded me for being an adult about the situation. I was lucky to only have to pay a large ticket amount.

unless you are the regular mail-getter in the family your parents are going to know something's up when you are all of a sudden getting the mail first...

Not sure about that, unless the law has changed. I was a minor and I just mailed my payment to the courthouse, then I did traffic school online and mailed my certificate.

wow really? because even my friend who got a speeding ticket after i got my mine had to go to the juvenile court with his dad. if i could've mailed it in, my friend and i definitely would have. then i just went to traffic school, and drove all the way back to court to hand them the cert. i guess they're really starting to cracking down on teen drivers.

You always get caught in the end. Just choose the honest route from the beginning and then you won't have to keep a secret and you won't have to keep lying and covering up.

That could be true, it could be part of an effort to crack down on young drivers. There definitely wasn't a law like this in 2003.

I highly doubt your insurance will go up for just one ticket.
If anything you can take defensive driving and had it taken off your record.

Just tell your parents, pay for the classes and court costs.

Not really a big deal.Everyone gets tickets.
Im sure your mom and dad got some when they were younger also

Come off with the truth dude, the sooner the better.. Because now they will also know you were considering lying. In Texas if your not legally an adult you must appear with a parent or guardian. Appearing without your parent/guardian would be the same as not showing up, meaning they file fail to appear, and issue a warrant for ya. Fess up. Soon.
