Default Had An Accident....Back Bumper Ripped In Half....

It's kind of funny how this is my 4th time in the body shop with this car. I was driving home from Boston....and I lost control of the car while making a turn for the exit. Did a 360 and end up hitting the exit sign. Thank God I'm ok and only my back bumper got damaged!

Now, looking to get a new back bumper. Any suggestions? I'm at 47k in miles and I am starting to mod it up little by little. I figure this might be the best time to start. Do you guys just have regular back bumpers? Or different kind of bumpers? Thanks

Glad you're OK... but how exactly did you lose control making a turn for an exit? How fast were you going?

I only ask because my insurance just renewed and went UP again... even though my record is clean. And then I keep reading posts like this or where someone totaled their tC...

As for the bumper.. it's basically a big plastic bumper cover. They're a couple hundred $$... if it is just the cover.

Yea....I wasn't going that fast.....plus it was wet on the floor. I took off the whole back bumper and the metal is intact.

I actually haven't had a ticket in over 3 years... yet.

I get to have most of my fun at autox, so I'm a little more careful on the streets. A little.

I'm "upstate" ... basically about 10 min south of Watkins Glen. There are regions all over the place though. Best idea is to check out scca.com and look for their "find my region" thing.

Wow......not one person mentioned a bumper! Anyway, are there any different kind of bumpers besides the original?

Ya, our bad... we jacked your thread.

There are aftermarket/body kit bumpers, but most would look really out of place unless you have the full kit. Of course if you want to drop the $ for a kit, now would be the time. Don't forget to factor in the cost for paint/install as well.

The OEM bumper is PN: 52159-21902 and is about $263 new UNPAINTED. If you're concerned about cost, you could also check eBay. I've seen a few there that were occasionally cheaper.
