Hatch rattle fixed... I love my car again!
I know this is post # 5 million about hatch rattles but i just wanted to let everyone know that removing the plastic ribs above the headliner did the trick for me! Rattles drive me crazy and it actually made me dislike riding in the TC. After the fix, I'm in love with my car again. I used the How-to's below to remove the ribs... Thanks to dachmo from Scionlife.com and Alex8181 at club-tc.com. Here are the link to the How-to's. If anyone has any questions for me, let me know. Thanks!!!

my creak sounds like it is a result of the flex in the glass from the roof. would removing those ribs help in that? i've never been in someone elses tC that has the rattle noise that was described in those how-to threads.

07blackedouttc and beedee - My rattle noise basically sounded like a constant tapping metal noise. It always rattled when traveling over rough service and most of the time just while cruising in general. I still hear slight rattles here and there but NOTHING compared to the constant tapping that the plastic ribs hitting the roof caused! beedee - My sunroof still creaks, it had nothing to do with the ribs. I've pretty much accepted that the entire top of the car is glass it's going to creak some on uneven surfaces. I hope this helps... Thanks.

Just had my car in today for the hatch rattle. I made them do the TSB that is out for our cars and viola its fixed!!! I know there is another thread out there about the TSB but for anyone interested it is TSB#NV010-06. All they did was replace the two hatch stops and moved the stricker down 2mm.
FYI: TSB is good for tC's with VIN numbers under 7660125048

i had bought the weather stripping to put on the rubber stops on the hatch as well. see: (pix are about half way down the first page)

i also put electrical tape on the latch as pictured.
theres still other random noises here and there, but it is MUCH improved. closing the moonroof covers help. i also went under the trunk liner (where the spare is) and padded the foam compartments, just in case some noise was coming from there, becuase i noticed they were a bit loose. and that other foam piece that sits on top of the spare, but some weather stripping underneath it too.
its now, like a whole new driving experience!

just to follow up on this post. After driving around for a while i thought i solved my main rattle problem but after a few days i heard a ticking/clicking noise again from the rear hatch. After a whole day of pounding on the hatch, taking stuff apart, etc i found out that the problem was the spoiler the entire time! The idiots at the dealership only put two bolts on the spoiler instead of 4; therefore the studs were constantly tapping against the metal! I installed two new bolts and snugged down all 4 and haven't heard a sound since. The way i found out it was the spoiler was by having someone lightly knock on the spoiler with their fist and i sat inside and heard the ticking noise. My first thought was tightening the loose bolts but when i looked there were no back bolts at all; just studs!! I'm sure the ribs contributed to some rattles but my main ticking noise was the damn spoiler! Oh well, I'm rib less and rattle less so I'm happy! Thanks!
