Default help! backed into concrete pole

holy crap! I've just got this car tuesday and suddenly today I forget there's a concrete pole standing in the way in the parking garage in my office, and I lightly bumped into it while backing in. now I've got this horrible thin vertical white line running up my back bumper...

this is so horrible, 3 days! what should I do, and what sort of damage figure am I looking at to get this fixed?

If it is a scratch from the paint on the pole it should just rub right off you can do it with your hand or a cloth of some sort or go to Auto Zone or whatever and grab a tube of scratch remover. Hope it helps.

no it was raw cement. some of the concrete dust might rub off but the line's gonna be there.

the kit doesn't sound like a bad idea, how much do they run and how decent do they look?

your best bet is probobly just get your bumper repainted, it might cost a couple hundred, but it might be worth it if nothing else works. Sorry to hear though.

Try buffing it out. Meguiar's ScatchX is good for that kind of thing. If you can't do it yourself, try a detail shop. Last resort would be repainting.

Do you have a picture of it? I wanna know how bad/ or not bad the damage is. Also, I have the exact type of pole / support beam in my garage... two things:
1) The trick is, while backing into your parking spot, look at your car's reflection in the car next to you (assuming his/her car is shinny)
2) Glue or rubber cement a large piece of padding to the pole in alignment with your bumper... it may look stupid, but it'll def. save you if you accidentally do something like the stated, or say... your handbrake isnt pulled up high enough and the car rolls back a lil (Im going to do this soon)

I'll try to get some pictures taken today after I wash it... as for the rubber bumper on the pole, that's really not an option since I don't own the garage and there are 6 floors with cement support beams everywhere. it was pretty stupid of me to bump into this thing, but in my opinion it's even stupider to have these things everywhere so close to parking spots. too dangerous!

The factory body kit does not replace the bumpers. It is just a lip kit that bolts onto the existing bumpers and side skirts and extends them.
