The cables wur probably put on right but listen, the tundra might of had a shorted diods in the altinator or sontin to cause this. People ask me y i have a fire extinguiser in my car, and this is one of the reasons

you ground the wire to the car, not the battery. seems even you don't no the correct way. next time choose your words with some maturity. theres no need to snap at her.

Hey, nOOb, I've jumped cars using both methods for 30 years, and if you're careful with your connections, they work fine and cause no damage.
I suggest YOU learn a little about the place before coming in and starting smack with your 70 posts.
Most people may tell you that it's best to jump to the frame or engine mounts for the neg, and that's good advice, but battery-to-battery also works safely.
Never had an issue.
