Default How Do You Guys Negotiate Discount And/Or Free Accessories?

I have tried, but unsuccessly. I've tried the line "If I buy from your dealership, will you throw in free floor mats?" and "Since it's Pure Pricing, and I'm choosing to go with you guys, what can you do for me?"

The answer has always been no and nothing.

So how are you guys wrangling free stuff...?

No one is wrangling free stuff. The only hope the dealer has on making money is by selling accessories with their sale or an extended warranty. Besides--the next person will buy the car if you don't.

yeah, I've heard of someone getting a set of fogs thrown in. My guess is you've gotta be pretty aggressive.

What's a couple of hundred? How about 2 months of gas... or one month of insurance?

the only deal i got was a couple extra thousand on my trade-in, since the guy pricing my trade-in works at the scion dealership and lives across the street so i know him pretty well. im not sure how anyone gets free crap on the scion itself

You can't get free stuff, but you can always try to get a lower interest rate. I did....I refused to get the scion financing interest rate. I think that your best chance to get something .......but free parts good luck..

i love the pure pricing
i hate to negotiate price and drag them for discount.
the price is already low and everyone pays equally, u don't have to search which place sells cheaper.
when i decided on my tc, i went there, sat there, and ordered it right away
fast, easy, and no stress

Also if you have a trade-in, the price they offer is somewhat flexible. They won't get into full-blown haggling, but you don't have to take their first offer.

well how i got my interest rate down to 5.75% and only being 20..i just basically came into the dealership i scared the financial guy telling him what i can afford what my beacon score was..

and then i talked to the sale associate to throw in the 1 extra free oil change..3 free ones are enough!!
the only reason i got one extra is becuase i had to wait for my car an extra 2 weeks from the set date becuase of a issue at port in jacksonville

I got free tint from my dealer by asking if there was anything he could do for me since I was military, knowing that Scion has specific student offers, etc.

Dealing with Scion sales people isn't exactly like dealing with other car dealers. Because of the pure pricing and things of that nature the Scion sales staff doesn't get paid comission like other car sales people, so trying to work on the price or ask for extras doesn't really get you anywhere.

That's the way it was explained to me by the guy I bought my car from and talked to a great deal.

You're best bet for getting any freebies is to treat your sales representative with respect and be cool to them.... some people get extra stuff by chance, others don't.
It's just by chance.

If you are related to anyone that works for Toyota you can get a discount on the price of the car, but that's probably the best it's going to get as far as perks.

but hey.. in the end you get a pretty sweet car freebies or not, right? ;)

to clarify, even Scion employees don't get any discounts on the car.
