Yea seriously- only problem is that its only good at that exact dealership which is across town from me... and if i move anywhere i'm basically SOL anyway. But for now its great! Just got the oil changed there yesterday, exactly how i like it- Fast, and Free.

as joe said, if u get free parts/accessories, something went wrong. either the dealer bumped the price somewhere and u didnt know it when u signed the dotted line, or the car came from another dealer, and the receiving dealer didnt take into account the accessories, which is almost never happens because there is alot of paperwork telling whats on the car. or the salesmen paid for the part out of pocket, which i doubt since salesmen dont make much off the sale of a scion.

toyota/scion employees do NOT get a discount of the cars
toyota/scion employees DO get a discount on accessories and parts.

false info spreads fast... lets get more knowledge goin on in here...
I know a toyota employee and so ur saying I can get a discount of accessories/parts. If I was to "order' an xB would I get the discount on the accessories at time purchase or would I have to get them after I purchase the car and get the discount then?

Yeah discounts on parts are based on individual dealers. I know what I get for a discount but I know its not the same as what people get at the dealer down the street...

So with just getting my new tC not to long ago...i did not get anything free on my car. even though all of the salesmen thought that i should. It does kinda suck that Active Duty Military cant get a discount. that is really the only thing i was disappointed with when i made the purchase.

That's the way it was explained to me by the guy I bought my car from and talked to a great deal.

You're best bet for getting any freebies is to treat your sales representative with respect and be cool to them.... some people get extra stuff by chance, others don't.
It's just by chance.

If you are related to anyone that works for Toyota you can get a discount on the price of the car, but that's probably the best it's going to get as far as perks.

but hey.. in the end you get a pretty sweet car freebies or not, right? ;)
well I used to work at the hudiburg car dealership here in Midwest City, OK. Every car sold has a min amount the sales man gets for selling it. Normally the cars with min amout of payback are old cars that they have lying around or they sell a ton of them. The sales man made about $700 for selling the new scion. I went to the dealership yesterday and I was looking at a 06 tc with 5k miles. sence I am good friends with the head manager he told the sales man to hook me up with whatever I want. To make a long story short, just tell them you wont buy the car without this or that. Thats what my friend did with his regency, about 2 days after he left the dealership they called him and told him his truck was ready to pick up.

I got nothing free.

But I got the exact car I wanted sitting on a lot waiting for me.

That's good enough for me.

Well, after all that, I'll have to go back and check my paperwork to see if I ended up paying for the trunk mat after all.

Car salespeople work very hard. A lot of them are crooks, but then a lot of them work long hours, six or seven days a week, and are trying to make it worth their while.

I can't really blame them for trying to force Scion buyers to buy a bunch of Scion accessories they don't want, because I know Toyota salespeople make very little off the sale of a Scion.

There are many Toyota dealerships whose Salespeople shouldn't even be selling Scions. Pure Pricing is Pure Pricing, and some dealerships ought to have a Scion-only salesperson who makes money by volume sold, or sell Scions exclusively through the Internet Sales department, who are used to selling in volume anyway.

I cant believe this is still being discusssed...

$700 on a Scion. I dont think so. I would have to sell a tC for $24,000 with included accessories to make that much. I did sell a 5sp tC for $22,000 on Saturday...
