How Many Miles Does Your Scion tC1 have and What Year is it??
#1422
I can do everything except top end work and engine building. I took my car back (7 miles on it) the day after I bought it due to tapping and valve train chatter. They told me it was normal. For the past 100k I've ignored it. When it starts having real problems I may be numb to it.

2005 tC bought in June of 2004, it has about 208K miles, I would have kept adding miles to it but I hydro-locked the motor this past Friday . I think its finally time for an engine build for boost lol.

Bummer on the motor taking a drink. What intake did you have What maintenance was involved over that stretch of time?

Thanks......Its one of those cheap no brand cold air intakes. Oil changes every 5K miles with Mobil one full synthetic oil; manual transmission fluid changed about 4-6 times through out that stretch of time, I only changed the P/S fluid once (OEM fluid), same for the brake fluid (Motul). I replaced the A/C compressor and alternator once. I replaced the gas cap about 3-4 times and the belt tensioner 2 times. I also only used premium gas because I've been driving around with the TRD S/C ECU reflash for over 100K miles. That's all I remember from the top of my head, everything else its still original. Oh......I had the 5 speed manual transs changed twice under warranty as well.

Motor was still going strong, would have easily made it to 300K. The OEM clutch gave out at about 90K miles, had a TRD one installed along with a clutch master light weight aluminum flywheel and that's what's still in there now, so almost 120K miles on those 2 parts (clutch was starting to feel no bueno lol). CV shafts are original and so are all the wheel bearings (no noise). The suspension is all TRD, the shocks have been in there for well over 100K miles, had the original white TRD springs, but swapped them out for the red ones and pretty sure those have 100K+ miles on them too.

No never, S/C was on there for about 40K miles and the rest obviously are N/A. Once I tear into the engine I'll get a really good look at the condition of the mentioned items, but that may not happen until this summer, no time right now thanks to school.

Age and mileage
2006 xB, 200,068 miles.
Regular maintenance: oil changes, tires, battery, wiper blades...
Only "repair" has been a front wheel bearing. Did the axle while I had it apart, but it wasn't bad. Still on the same belts! Couldn't ask for a more reliable car.
