I'm looking into purchasing a carbon fiber hood with some scratches. How much would it cost to get the scratches out? Either buffing or clear coat?

I do not believe the scratches are deep....

Please let me know what you guys think.

Try polishing compound. If that doesn't get rid of them step up to rubbing compound or possibly wetsanding. You can buy all the stuff to do that for less then $50. A shop will charge you at the very least $100 to prep and re-clear.

Is that stuff hard to do? I wouldn't want to mess up the hood...lol

It almost seems better to fork over the extra $$$ and buy the hood new...
