How tall are you???

How tall are you???
I've been debating between the xB and tC, mainly because of:
1. Fuel efficiency of xB
2. Excellent safety features of xB
3. Awesome standard features of tC, comparable to my wife's much more expensive Toyota vehicle with that killer panorama sunroof that I, my wife and my kids love.
4. Excellent safety features of tC.
I'd say both are awesome cars and both are beautiful in their own right. My question though is about height. Whatever I buy, it will probably be a 5spd (because I like 'em). I've driven both and the xB has an enormous amount of head/ leg room. The tC was alright, but I'm 6'1" and feel a bit cramped in the tC. I have some weight to lose (yeah, I know - TMI) which I figure might help a bit, but for tall people - are your legs pretty cramped in their also? I could drive the tC and shift it, but my wife's biggest concern is that I'm too tall for the car and if involved in an accident, she's concerned the knee-level airbag won't really protect my legs and that I'll be seriously injured.
I ran a search for this specific topic, but came up with too many generic references to the height of the vehicles or the word "tall" inside the word "install".
Thanks.

Well I'm 6'5" and find that the tC is a great fit and I have the 5-spd. You also should look at the performance aspects as well if that matters to you. I could never drive anything that takes 10 secs to get to 60mph.

Thanks for that information. I don't like the fact that the xB is so slow, but the fuel economy...
I did enjoy driving that 5spd tC and pushing it in 3rd and 4th gear; it had nice torque. The xB did made my PT Cruiser seem fast .

I'm also tall... 6'3" actually. I don't feel cramped at all. And actually, I have some room for the seat to go back a bit more. My only concern is usually headroom. But that really only comes into play when I have to put a helmet on for AutoX. Otherwise, it's perfectly fine.
Best thing to do is just drive it a bit more if you can and see if you can find a good comfort spot. Play with all of the seat adjustments and get it set right.

Height alone is not enough to determine if you can fit. I'm 6'1" and fit fine. My friend is 6'4" and he does not fit as well. more of his height is upper bpdy situated, while more of mine is lower body situated.
Literally his head toucehd the sunroof in my car, but leg room is not an issue.

Well in that case, to elaborate I have a 36" inseam so I guess I have pretty long legs. I have the seat at it's lowest level and pushed all the way back and my legs are decently comfortable. I've driven close to 1,200 miles this past week or so and my legs weren't cramped at all.

Im 6'4 and I fit perfectly in the tC. If I spike my hair up my hair would hit the ceiling, but theres the opening for the sunroof . the only thing i wish the tC could do, is move the seat back farther...theres so much damn rear leg room and i want more front leg room...i used to drive a bmw 325i, with the seat all the way down and back there was NO rear leg room..like 2 inches but i could barely reach the pedals (i have really long legs lol). Then i had a dodge dakota standard cab..i couldn't even fit in that thing cuz the seat doesn't go back at all. I feel more comfortable in the tC than the xB however, the xB hasless front legroom (from what ive seen in person) but a LOT more headroom...my head is about a foot away from the ceiling...which is wrong. Anyway, which ever you get good luck and welcome to the scion family

Shifting is no problem for me, but I can't imagine doing it comfortbaly if I were 2 or 3 inches taller. But then again, others seem to be fine with it, so...
...it's really up to you and how *you* feel.
