I am gonna lemon law my Tc... South Florida

^^ well i know what your saying...but i still feel like the build quality is good...i'm not complaining about that....and your right about your nissan....seems like now, everything is held in with plastic clips though and i think that is part of the problem...if they would actually use rubber gromets, and screws to hold panels(like nx's/sentras in the early 90's and probably yours) it'd all be fixed......basically, we did get a good car for a good price with all the bells and whistles that usually cost more..so i think something would have to be sacrificed...unfortunately its the fitting of all the plastic components.
.....all i was implying was that i dont think the lemon law would cover this..the problem is with the dealer if they've made the problems worse.. and earlier i meant "the workers at the dealer don't care about our cars like we do"..
but i understand what your saying Justin

Captain, of course it didn't. I know where my 8 grand went, but to say "Oh, this happens in this price range" is a ridiculous excuse. Daniel could be right though, using plastic clips over rubber gromets and screws could be part of the reason why these problems exist but I would gladly pay an extra 500 dollars for my car if it means no rattles and ticking sounds (god that dome light ticking sound is the most obnoxious noise ever) and everything secured more properly. Man that was a long run on sentence.
Overall, I am happy with the car I bought a year ago, but there are problems, and there is no excuse for these problems. Especially when some of these noise problems have existed year in and year out.
And yes, I know how obnoxious it is that I keep using the "well my old car did this, and my old car did that" explanation, but these are the only two cars I've ever owned so my basis of comparison is limited.

Well, depends on how your lemon law works in your state- like if you need to have had X amount of repairs made and vehicle is still having the same concern, then you qualify ... however, if its based more on on bad dealership experiences well, then I'd go after the dealer as opposed to just trying to get the car bought back-- you won't get all of your money back anyway--
Every dealer is a privately owned business so if you had a bad experience at the dealer then I would take it up with the dealership-- maybe try having a different dealership repair the car? .... just a thought

The tC has been out for about three years now. Toyota still has not figured out a way to fix the rattles/squeaks/groans/pops and other assorted noises the interior of these cars make.
I think at this point it is pretty obvious that Toyota does not consider this a major issue and is not working on any kind of fix.
Toyota doesn't care.
You can either fix it yourself, deal with it or buy a new car. And if Toyota doesn't think it's a major issue, then you better believe that the dealer cares even less.
Good luck to you if you can lemon your car and get rid of it. I doubt you can do it, but more power to you if you can.

People just have not realized that 'they don't build 'em like they used to.' Materials have changed and become cheaper. Car makers use the cheaper materials to make cars. That's what keeps prices reasonable and profits up for the makers.
I do agree with the argument of why no fix yet. The tC has been out for over 3 YEARS and Toyota still doesn't have an answer/fix? But why find an answer or fix when you're selling what seems like a billion Scions a year? Probbaly the only way they will do that is if nobody purchases a Scion. Which is not likely to happen.

No, I have rattles but I don't care. I'm still financing my tC and I must say, this was the smartest, most affordable purchase so far yet.
I was just stating the fact how 99% of tCs rattle. So if one files and wins over rattles, it looks like a clear sky for the rest of us (if you wanted to). lol

I'm glad I don't take my car to King Toyota. I bring my car to Al Hendrickson Toyota. See if they can fix it and bring a print out of the TSB. (located somewhere on the fourm)
Like everyone else said, all cars creak and rattle. I have an '07 with no problems at all. I guess with any new first run production car, there will be some bugs and sometimes fixed when the new model year comes out.

Well I understand you are frustrated but it seems that folks want this champagne car on a beer budget, First Let me tell you about a Mercedes dealership here in Fresno. My girlfriend was doing some work for them and in the course of 1 week she spoke with 4 people that came through with $100,000 mercedes that have been in the shop more than on the road. Fact is Cars are Cars....be thankful you didn't spend 100k and can't drive it.
Now, if the dealership kept screwing up your car, why did you keep bringing it back?
Second, lemon law tends to only cover driveablity and safety problems, not rattles and squeaks.
My advice to you is trade it in or sell it, for what I have no idea though. Whatever you do best of luck and sorry to hear you have had such a frustrating experience.

Hmmm yeah honestly I'm not sure there really is a fix unless the design of the car is changed which obviously for the previous model years isn't going to be a plausible fix.......but even so.... i wonder if other cars in the Scion xA-xB-tC-xD price range have similar rattles/creaks..I know my dad's 04 Nissan Titan (not in the price range I know, but just making a point) has an annoying rattle in the rear door that Nissan has tried to "fix" 3x now and everytime it stays quiet for a week and starts up again....

Okay so here is the latest, since I am affiliated with South East Toyota; as soon as they heard that one of their own is pursuing arbitration I got a call from the big cheese and he persuaded me to reconsider and let them fly a specialist down from Jacksonville to fix my car. I agreed so let's see what happens next. :o

So I went to Al Hendrickson Toyota/Scion in Coconut Creek to meet up with this dude Lewis from Toyota who is the factory rep they sent down from Jacksonville. This guy was really cool and educated. So I went down the list of all the things King Toyota/Scion broke and all things they could not fix right. This dude Lewis said he will take care of everything. So far they have about $4,100 in parts ordered for my car and when all the parts are in, I will drop my car off and they'll hook me up with another 4runner loaner car.
Let's see what happens next!
