Default I can hear a strange whistling noise

I can hear whistling coming from my engine from inside the car, windows up radio off. I checked near the intake and there is this pipe that feeds air into the air box it was sticking out a bit revealing the foam that seals the link between the air box and pipe. It only happens when I hit the gas and when I was in park when my engine was still cold. Anyone know what's up?

normal, it is something that makes the car sound like it has a high performance intake, you should search sometime. many people have been pondering it before.

whistling's normal. scion made it so that it'll kinda sound like a s/c. a cai will make it even more apparent.

it depends on your rpm and how hard you're on the throttle. not the speed

If you think that's weird, put a short-ram on. After about 4k under WOT, the engine sounds like it has a leaf blower powered by Jesus attached to the throttle body.

I pushed in the pipe into the air box and now the noise is gone. Does it hurt not to have a noise? I knew it was already talked about, I was just worried because it was something not there in the morning.
