God.... you guys are hilarious. "Crapilly designed".. yet some of the most reliable stuff you can get your hands on these days. Besides some rust problems about 30 years ago, every toyota I have ever worked on, seen sitting at my fathers shop, or driven has been amazingly well put together, including the 300,000 mile plus 78 corolla I used to own that still drove fine when I got rid of it.
Again, go with a lightweight flywheel and you will actually be removing the "delay".. all you guys are doing is preloading your throttle pedal, which is un-needed. The car works fine the way it is. The heavier flywheel was used to make launching easier for the average joe. If you want it to rev quickly, then swap it out for a lighter one, and like all of the others that I have talked with with the fidanza, you will realize the "delay" is gone.

as mentioned in this thread earlier the delay is there for a reason as scion/toyota made this car for the younger people who is starting out in stick or have been driving stick for a little bit to make it easier for them as it was intended now if you been driving stick for 25 plus yrs then yea it would probably bother you why cause most young kids that drive tc's wouldnt noticed it or or wouldnt care cause either its there first stick shift or upgrade from another slower stick shift but if you been driving stick all your life and drove many different cars then thats a different story..so remeber its there for a reason to make it easier for the youth to drive and it was intended too..can it be fixed yea a flywheel..as for the rubber thing common its dangerous and not needed
