I'm still breaking in the car, I'm #only 80 miles so I don't really know how well the tires handle. I've cut quite a few corners sharp @ probably 25mph without any tire noise but thats not much of a test. I'll report again and I hope others /w yokomos report also.

I went from a poor little Focus to my tC and had just the OEM tires on the Ford. They had much better grip than the ones on my new tC. I never lost traction in the Focus, though I also had alot less power but I still drove it hard as hell.

Damn, I want to switch to............

Neither tire is a performance tire. The tread and speed rating on both are the same. They're designed to be as quiet as possible while running on a 17" rim and still do good in the snow. If you try any evasive manuvers on either of those all-seasons you've got problems.

If you're driving agreesive enough to spin out on those tires then you don't know enough about driving, tires, or cars to be driving that agressively anyway.

Never had any problems before.........

Just think the grip on these tires could be alot better since I can lose traction even when I am not doing anything. Just barely pulling into traffic from my parking lot and have wheel spin..........

My brand new tC has the Yoko S32A's on them as well. Even the dealer didnt know that they were coming on the tC's now. Interestingly tC's that came on the same shipment as my car had the RE92's on them. I was happy to see the Yoko's

not sure what the deal on the tires is. i've sold a few with the yokohama's on them but the past few fresh off the truck and delivered have had the regular Potenza tires on them. so i guess we'll see if those are the new standard or just a big batch had them cause they ran out or something

Well, the specs are the same. They can't be much worse than the Bridgestones though. As far as the comment about them being quiet, I think they are noisy as hell. That was the first thing I noticed about my tC was the constant drone from the tires.

I just checked the dealers lot and mine has the Yoko's, but why can't I find anything about them on the web?

i wonder if they're better than the potenzas... potenzas spin easily. and if i put a little too much throttle, they chirp from a standing start. anybody wanna do a full testing on the yokes???

I think the Potenza's on my car are great. I drive my tC hard and they drive amazing. Much better than the Michelin Pilot MXM4 17' I have on my Turbo S Beetle. When the tires are gone on the beetle I am going to put some Potenza's on that car. I bought my tC about a week ago, and it came off the truck and it had Potenza's.

I tried to get rid of the RE92s from day-one, but the dealer didn't know how to swap them; however the local Firestone dealer did. I had planned to swap for the Potenza RE950s since Firestone refused to trade for another brand. Tirerack listed both the RE950 and RE92 within $10 of each other.

I figured a fair swap would be $100 - 150 including mounting and balancing.

When I got to Firestone, they wanted $230 for the swap. I argued with the manager, and eventually the Gulf Coast regional manager. The regional manager brought it down to $210 since he exclude new valve stems. But you can see neither one was willing to give me a fair price, and in the end lost a loyal customer of 9-years.

It bugs me that Firestone acted the way they did. Maybe the tread seperation lawsuits are taking their toll. Like I said, in the end Firestone lost a loyal customer over less than $100 bucks.

yeah i agree about firestone/bridgestone dealers.. they are kinda shady. like those mechanics you worried about being a "back alley mechanic".. just for their business practices i don't deal with them anymore.. i just go to belle tire some other local tire shop if i want bridgestones..

I have Potenzas - got my tC Dec. 10 vin# 275xx. So far, I have no complaints. I would like to know which tire performs better, though.
