I have rasp!!!! mmw header/ Magnaflow
I have Rasp with my mmw header, and magnaflow cat-back...... how can this be fixed.........i have a few problems......
*first off..... its a pretty well known fact that the mmw header rubs on the under side...cause an bothersome rattle under your car usually during lower rmp.....
*and im starting to hear some rasp coming from the exhaust..... how can this be corrected...?

thanks guys. much appreciated. So with a resonator, did you guys notice a deeper sound? because magnaflow was one of the deeper sounds i found, hence i bought that system, but with the rasp it sounds like a Fuc*`n civic!!!! blah!!!! lol pure ricer....lol

lol its funny how people always use civics as an example of rasp. The new Si's dont sound too bad nowadays though. Well yes a resonator does make the sound deeper. of course. But i chose to not like having a midpipe with a biggass resonator, So i just went with a good axleback. But yeah get another resonator welded on and you shuld be fine.

a 30" inch i think is the max length that will fit on the midpipe easy. and who said 12 inch? a 12 inch no matter what wil have rasp if you get headers. they probably have a 12 inch resonator and welded on an additional 6 inch on the other side of the pipe or something. People say resonators dont really obstruct flow. So you wont be let down if you get a 30 inch. guarantee with a 30 inch res, any axleback n header shuld sound deep enough. I personally have an 18 inch with a kickass axleback and mine sounds toooo sexy.

yea, the s-pipe rubs, along the front axle. .... i have no idea how to fix it, and what really sucks is that it seems like most people i've spoke to with a mmw header set up has the same issue...but weapon-r says they no nothing about it in previous in house installs. so what can be done? all of us mmw header owners, spent nice $$$ on this header,,, and the rattle sounds like $hit and nothing seems to resolve it.... weapon-r will ask you to send a pic.... but when you look under the car it seems fine... nothing is touching.....its only when its given gas does it rattle...... sooo someone has got to get under the car while on a lift and give it gas to see where this rattle is coming from....

Man if only i had this problem too, becuz i personally drove to weapon-r to meet them and pick up my header. IF i did have this problem i could probably show them. Mine doesnt not rattle on anything physically, my rattle is pretty quiet, sounds like little metal peices inside being shaken up.

Resonator is the best way, as stated above. However, an alternative may be to use a silencer, it will cut the rasp but will make everything else quiet as well. I have an xB but substantial body modification caused me to not have space for a muffler behind the axle. I resorted to using a Flowmaster Hushpower II muffler on 2 1/4" piping cat-back. The exhaust tip was an 18" 90mm chrome pipe. I'm using a Strup header and it sounded bad, so I put in an Apexi active tail silencer and it sounds much better. I actually wanted the whole range quieter since between 2800-3200 RPM there was very loud droning in the cabin. The active silencer uses a gas pressure activated bypass valve that opens up under WOT or load conditions, so there is no restriction when you punch it but it still silences when cruising.

Rattle fix-wrap some header wrap around it where it is close to or hitting things-might not completely solve it but should quiet it at least
As far as the resonator-I guess size does matter-I've heard that the resonators dimish performance slightly by obstructing airflow so the smallest that fits the need the best.
I have an exaust rattle that is weird-sometimes while turning hard to the left and going down hill the muffler sometimes bangs against something-maybe the springs but the tailpipe is exactly centered so I can't do much about it.
Yeah-Honda's (they can sound like this Icon looks -that's the sound of a Honda passing you)
