Default I need opinions :)

k so i drive a WP tC, and i'm thinking about doing a blue/gold theme..

painting the stock wheels gold, getting a new grille and painting that gold, and doing the emblems on the trunk gold as well.

my goal is to have something that is different to my area, and catches your eye
opinions on if this will look good, or any other things i should do?

Don't do the gold grille. leave that black. If you do the emblems, take off the tC one and only paint the Scion one gold.

i've went over the drop issue before, it's never happening, not where i live no can do on a DD, and the tint is coming when i can some extra cash.

these are things i can do now, inexpensively thats why im doing them.
and I want to do gold because no other color goes very well with the WP, plus i'm sick of seeing black rims everywhere thats why i'm going for the gold

to be honest and in my opinion, gold on a WP doesn't go. a guy that used to live up the street used to have goldies on his WP and it just didn't look right, i did purple because it looked good and it really flowed with the car and it REALLY stands out. if you want something that pops do like gunmetal or silver wheels and if your still set on the gold do little accents here and there but not too much.

Yes, +1 for PA sucking for lowered cars, good call imo.

after mostly all of you telling me gold isnt a good idea, i decided not to do it. i'm just going to paint the rims black.. i just did my calipers purple and they look awesome. my boyfriend also told me i should do the lugs purple as well.

you think i should do the trunk emblems purple, or leave them silver?
i'm also gunna keep the grille black, just going to get a different one in the future.

hows that sound now?

I personally don't like people painting stock wheels black, I think if someone goes with black wheels they should have a chrome lip or something. If I had to paint my stock wheels I would probably only go bronze.

My advice is to not listen to us or anyone else (boyfriend included). It's your car and it has to fit your likes/dislikes so do it up how you want it to be.

If you'd like some concept around what typically makes a good mix of colors you should look into something called "color theory," but if you're not into research, you basically just need to know that if you want multiple colors to seem complimentary you want to use a color wheel. 2 colors, pick your base color and then the color directly opposite it is the complementary color. If you have 3 colors, make an equilateral triangle on the color wheel to get the colors that go well.

Color wheel example:

Beyond that...sometimes it's interesting to use colors that are supplementary (next to/near each other on the color wheel) instead of complementary (opposite each other on the color wheel). It's really up to you and what you want your car to look like.

Oh, and I just found out that Wikipedia has a color theory entry.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_theory

Scroll down until you find the complimentary color section for a better break down of what I said above.
