When I turn right, I don't hit curbs. I mostly hit people trying to cross the street.

It is because I always look to the left when I'm about to turn right and only look to the right when I already stepped on the gas.

i usually take all turns going fast, just because i love taking turns fast, but i have never curbed a wheel. your supposed to use your side mirrors when parking, or at least i do and it has worked for me.

if you cant see over your hood, then i think its time for you to get another car, maybe something smaller. as far as im concerned, it seems that your taking this as a joke, but it isnt, if you cant drive correctly that you really shouldnt be driving at all.

you dont have to see over the hood of your car to drive, you just need to take the necessary precautions. damn, homie, you take things way too seriously since your accident

Amen, brother, I don't even have aftermarket wheels and the ONE rash experience I had scarred me for life. I take all my turns around tall curbs pretty friggin wide now! lol.

Better safe than sorry... that's my motto, makes me a boring person but whatever, I'm a boring person with wheels in excellent condition

yeah it is mostly just practice. I have a great feel for where my car is and how close it is to things outside of it. It sounds to me like you just turn the wheel to early and to hard. MAKE WIDER TURNS. and if you continue to hit the curb while turning on a red light, then just wait a few seconds for your light to turn green then you can make a comfortable turn. yes it is legal to turn on red lights but it is ILLEGAL to drive on the sidewalk.

When’s the last time you had an eye exam? Bad eyesight could be the cause of your lack of depth perception.

LoL! I make my right turns wide now. It may look stupid on the road and people may think I'm a student driver who can't make decent right turns.

thUsLw, maybe get prescription glasses?

What my dad had me do to practice getting used to the car (and to help me parallel) is find an empty parking lot and drive around on reverse. I'm not talking about going straight, but make a path around the lot islands turns and all. You'll get funny looks if there is a security guard in the building (one came out while I was driving reverse around and stared at me as if I was crazy). Then after you've gotten used to driving around backwards, use cones (or those big plastic trash cans (closer to height of other cars)) and set up a space for you to parallel into. After all that, I was pretty comfortable parallel parking (sadly, it also made me more comfortable, and better, driving reverse than forward). After getting comfortable with the trash cans or cones, try actually parallel parking between cars. Find a gap that's big between cars, so you get the hang of it again and just parallel in. Getting nervous and panicy just makes it harder, so just relax and let whatever you learned with the trash cans/cones take over and before you know it, you will have paralleled. =D Good luck and have fun driving on reverse (it's fun!).
