BTW, the tC now has Volk wheels as evidence by the decal on the door.

I don't think it's just the wing...I think it's the combination of that, the dozens of stickers all over the car, the baby puke colored paintjob and the carbon fiber hood...but that's just me. Everyone has different opinions. I mean for a show car it's OK, but I bet I will see one of these on a highschool parking lot.

*edit*
oh and what are those things on the side of the front bumper? It looks like it got into a fight with a Gillette razor.

those are metal or carbon fiber canards.

i dont like all those decals, but what can i say. it's a show car.

i do not consider the wing rice, if it DOES FUNCTION and does make the car perform better, then it's not considered rice to me. but, if it just adds a lot of weight and has absolutely no function except for styling.. then it is rice.

Default Car is whack compared to other tricked out SCION TC's

In fact here is a picture of just one that I found on the web.

http://www.tctunerz.com/content/view/57/2/

Check this ride out. Fully tricked out with a wide body kit.

You guys should also check the website out:

http://www.tctunerz.com

Pretty sick stuff in there, like turbos, superchargers, cold-air intakes, nitros, etc.

OK. I've never been insulted by someone usere the term "rice" until this statement.
So, your saying that anything cosmetic that proves no funcion is "Ricey?" So if I put some nice rims on, that are the same size but weigh more, is that ricey?
How else would you differentiate your tC from someone elses?

C'mon guys. That cars not ricey. All it has is a couple wings, stickers and neon paint. It's not ricey cause it's ugly, and rice is not ugly

There is nothing wrong with rice if done correctly. I'll give you an example:

Fried Pork-Chop Rice is so damn good when done right. Hot and crispy...mmmmm.

By your last statement I would assume that you are joking, but in case you aren't...
By the most general definition of "rice", putting rims on that are the same size but weigh more could be considered ricey. To answer "How else would you differentiate your tC from someone elses?"... Put on some lighter rims.

This of course is by the most general definition of rice. Many people have different interpretations.

I was totally serious.
So, like I said, whatever I do to change the look of my car, if it does not add function, would be considered rice? I dissagree
There is a differnce between ricey and stupid. I consider something ricey when either it is extravagantly outdone, like the 5 axis scion, or those shogun kits on eclipses/acuras/etc. Or when they are totally blown with turbos, guages and dual exhausts.
I dont' consider the injen scion rice cause it barely looks different then stock.

there is absolutely no problem with me if someone wants to be different. if anything, i am all for it. if they want different wheels. by all means, go for it. i am not here to stop them.

a large carbon fiber wing or aluminum wing that has absolutely no function other then style is considered rice to me. i am not saying every kind of modification is ricey.

my definition of rice is: 1. large decals of a product that you don't even have in the car 2. largely overdone mods(i.e. enormous wing that has no performance value vs. a smaller one that might actually do something) 3. mods that seem to make the car extremely fast when a person with a disability can out manuever you. the list goes on and on. there was thread about this. im not in the mood to look for it.

p.s. i did not make that post to bash the car. i like the car and i like the color because it stands out of the factory options. the only thing that i thought was out of place was the wing and the decals.

its there.. hence the reason the top is still black i would assume.

i think if they stripped the stickers and the wing, and put a great audio setup inside (which i think someone posted that they did? i read this topic yesterday, but didnt re-read it) then i think that the car would be an excellent show car. which it probably already is through some peoples' eyes.

I can't tell from the pic. But if they swapped the glass roof for a carbon fiber roof, I take all my "non-rice" comments back. With a carbon fiber roof, it would be totally rice and I am totally in love!
But I don't think it is
