Installed new short shifter. check it out. ****Update******
*****Update***
So i bought a shifter off ebay recently (pretty decent for $30)and installed myself. To me it still wasn't short enough. So i purchased a heavy duty pipe cutter from lowes. The pipe cutter allowed me to cut about 2-2 1/2 inches off shifter. Now its the perfect height. Shifter also came with cage bushings. I also ordered NST cable bushings but haven't received them yet. Everything feels much more precise and shorter. love it, here are some pics. BTW i chose to use a pipe cutter b/c its a much cleaner cut than using a dremel, plus there were no metal filings to pick up afterwards and it cost like $6.
also this is my first post
*****Update******
I finally installed the NST Bushings. I did it in my garage once i got home the other night. It was pretty simple. I can notice a difference while shifting now, its kind of hard to explain. But for the most part it feels alot more direct, smoother, and precise.
short shifter on left stock on right. this pic is before i cut down more.

Pull out the boot and turn it inside out. You'll see a ring holding the chrome outer ring of the boot. Pull out and choke up on the boot material and reinstall. It should fit a lot better without the floppy boot around your ****. Shouldn't take more than 3-4 mins. **** looks good btw, what kind is it and where'd you get it?

hey guys, i got a question, maybe this was being asked before
instead of swapping the whole shifter
can i cut down the shift stick, narrow it, and make new tread for the shift ****
regardless of how difficult that might sound, do you think it'll help performance like the whole kit does?
