Default JD and Scion Vie for National Championship

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

September 9, 2008

Jackson-Dawson and Scion Vie for NASA National Championship This Week at Mid-Ohio

Team Hustles Car Back Together After Crash at Watkins Glen to Compete for Performance Touring Championship

TORRANCE, Calif. — Starting this Thursday, September 11, at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course, the Jackson-Dawson team will be racing for another shot at history…a national road racing title for Scion. The championship race week/weekend comes not long after a disappointing incident where the team was taken out by a Grand-Am competitor at the Watkins Glen race. A lot of hustle on the team’s part as well as Royalty Auto Body, got the car in tip-top shape to make the event.

"The crash at The Glen caused a great deal of damage, more than we thought, in fact,” said Dan Gardner, team manager and driver. "This was definitely one of those avoidable crashes, where you find yourself being taken out by another driver, but things happen in racing, so that’s just a part of the deal here. The good news is that the car seems to be in great shape, and we’re ready to show the world again what Scion is made of!”

Details for the event are as follows:

• What: 3rd Annual NASA National Championships, Performance Touring C Class

• Where: Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course, Lexington, OH

• When: September 11-14

o Sept. 11 — Practice

o Sept. 12 — Qualifying Race

o Sept. 13 — Qualifying Race

o Sept. 14 — National Championship Race

Drivers earn points in qualifying races that then determine the final starting order for the national championship race. The team is also competing for a national time trial championship in the TTC class, where the driver with the fastest lap time of the week wins.

Throughout the race week/weekend, those who can’t be in Ohio will be able to watch live timing and scoring at http://drivenasa.com/liveresults/. In addition, for the Sunday championship race, a live video feed of the front straightaway will be viewable at www.speedcasttv.com. Users will need to create a login, but viewing the feed is free. A detailed schedule of practice, qualifying, and race times can be found at http://www.nasaproracing.com/schedul...8/national.pdf. The JD team will be running in groups “G” and “J.”

“A national championship sure would be sweet,” said crew chief, Brad Allen. “It’s been a roller coaster of a year, but I’ve got a feeling that we’re going to surge in Ohio. Scion power for the win!”

Ya, here you go (not too many of just the damage though - I'm guessing there was more than that):
